Dudley1
I have had my chicks four weeks now and had the complete Eglo Go package including the food. The problem is they don't ever seem to eat very much of the pellets. The food goes down by a negligable amount . They have wrecked the lawn though! I also give a couple of handfuls of corn as a treat late afternoon. ( This is helping them to recognise my call and get used to me) They are not FR as Mr Fox comes by too often during the day time. The food container which comes with the Go I think at the rate they are eating wouldn't need filling up for two weeks. They are laying now, I have three chicks and have had three eggs for the last couple of days. Am I being over worried or maybe they don't like the pellets? Ain't Nobody Here
I was going to say they'd eat more once they start laying then read that they are laying! I think once they get into the swing of regular laying you'll probably find they'll eat more. They're not daft, they'll eat what they need so as long as they're not filling up on other stuff (which they're not, if you only give them some corn daily) they'll be eating enough. sjp
best way to find out is to weigh out a days ration plus a bit over allow 125grams per bird plus one extra bird then put just that in the feeder make a mental note of how far up the feeder it goes then just put that ammount in the feeder for a few days and leave out the treats for a couple of days. it's bit of a faf but it'll go someway to allaying your concerns
