Is this normal please

Recommended Posts

Sandy - I don't wish to alarm you, but I have not seen this before - which is not to say its not normal. I'm hesitant because that looks a bit like blood (the dark red) behind the orange gunk. I'd advise to watch the chick like a hawk. If it shows any sign of being listless, not eating, standing about, possibly with its wings held away from the body then it has cocci and you need to administer coxoid which you can get OTC, or better still in my view, baycox from the vet.

As I say, this may well be normal, its just I haven't seen chicks shed gut lining.

she is just fine???

thank you.

After her first day out on the grass in a week or so (weather too cold, and with breeder) both grass run at farm, and here.

I saw something redish coupled with fluffing up a bit. and just panicked. (as it could also have been a tad too cool in their indoor rabbit run that is within my WIR that is in turn under the house port. )

Reading how Cocci can wipe out a chick, I put them straight on Coxoid.

Which is day 7 tomorrow..

right or wrong I did not want inaction to kill her!! (or her sister!)
