On the weekend we picked up a second hand cube and run for us to grow the chicks on.

 

As they were 4 weeks old on the weekend, we decided to let them out in the day, bringing them in at night.

 

So last night I boxed them up, brought them back in and put them in the brooder.

 

At 6.15am this morning when I went outside to put them back in, there in the cube run cheeping at me was one of the chicks It must have been hiding behind the wheels last night Thankfully it didn't seem any the worse for wear

 

However, as the sole chick was fine.... I have decided to leave the chicks out 24/7 and reclaim my spare room

 

They are too small for the cube ladder yet, so the bedroom is a cat carrier deep in nice warm bedding

 

Temperature overnight isn't going to dip below 12 which is fine

you could make steps out of concrete blocks dry laid flat on top of each other just rejuice each level by half a block each time the joints need to be staggered hench the half block reduction, at 4 weeks they can manage a 4inch step it also gives them an extra play area

I was waiting for that I've already had a lecture from Chick Wiggle that pink is a lovely colour.... It's just not "me" though.... But I only paid £250 for the cube and run so I can live with the colour

Ha ha that explains the 'pink' message! I like pink too, I've actually been 'allowed' a pink cube. But I doooo like the yellow!
