Hi, My Brahma called Speckly has today been quite not herself, she has lay in the nesting box of the Eglu most of the day, took her some treats in but she never moved, she seems to be making a clucking sound, I dont know what could be wrong with her, is there anyone who may be able to help or advise me, it would be greatly appreciated. Speckly is just over a year old. Thank you

Is she fluffed out like a pancake? Could she be broody?

 

Try taking her out and offering her food and water.If she eats and drinks and then tries to get back to the nest I would think she's broody. There are various ways to get her out it this.

 

If she doesn't eat and drink and seems lethargic then she is ill and probably needs to see a vet.

Many thanks for your message, I have spoen to the person who we bought our first 2 hens from and thet said exactly the same as you, we are doing as they advised and hope this will help as soooo sad to see her not out free ranging with her chums, Thanks again. X
