chickencam
We have a member of staff who struggles with the smell off perfumes and the smell of cleaning products like Mr Sheen. He claims that they make him feel ill and because he is one of the partners it is hard just to say tough. Are there any good alternatives that don't smell? Alos are there any such products that are also antibacterial?
patsylabrador
There is a DK book, 1001 Natural Remedies. It's full of really good alternatives that work. I don't like manufactured perfumes either, I blend my favourite essential oils, depending on certain things and times, in a base oil and rub that on instead. I'm sure that works because a blind lady once told me I smell nice!
chickencam
I am not fond of fake smells, much prefer natural ones, I hate air fresheners, but don't mind a small amount of Mr Sheen. I will have a look for the book you suggested.
craftyhunnypie
I use Pledge multi surface. It's in a can like Mr Sheen, but a blue colour. It smells lovely. I don't like the normal polish smell. Emma.x
chickencam
How strong is the lovely smell? Because it doesn't matter how lovely it is if it is strong he will complain. he won't let the receptionist or his secretary wear perfume at all. I love perfume and wear it all the time, but only fairly light good quality ones.
merlina
If they make him ill, I'm not surprised he complains! Petrochemical scents give me asthma and a day in an office with something noxious like Pledge would make me feel like I had the worst case of flu - I've been hospitalised a number of times because people don't take chemical sensitivity seriously Obviously everyone is affected by different things, but I can tolerate the Method brand well and they're fairly readily available Otherwise products like Dr Bronner's and Bentley are very good (and all are much better for the environment)
