I have my second Eglu in place now and so I'm searching for some new chooks to join the existing group. I had a quick scan through previous recommendations here on the forum and had contacted Ben at Mini Meadows but he doesn't have any bantams ready at the moment. I could wait......but I'm impatient!! Can anyone recommend other breeders in the Peterbrough area - I'm OK to travel a bit as long as it's not too far for the chickens journey back . And I'm not absolutely set on bantams yet - can't make my mind up. Any thoughts? Thanks

Hi, I cannot personally recommend any down there, but I just had a quick google and have come up with this.

Lots of places in the Peterborough area there and some are dedicated bantam breeders so I am sure you could find something, I had a quick look at some of the sites and there seem to be lots of breeds roundabout and some definitely have some ready to go.

If you're not completely sure, why don't you go and have a look what Ben has got in stock anyway? I was on his website a couple of days ago and it sounds as if he's got some lovely girls coming through in the next few weeks. All our girls came from Mini Meadows and I'm trying to dissuade myself from a trip over 'just to have a look', 'cos I know I'd come back with another couple

Thanks Tim for the link. As you say looks like there are quite a few breeders around so maybe I should just take the plunge and visit them . And thank you, Spinning Top. I suspect, like you when I do go "just to look" I won't be able to leave empty handed so I just need to choose what I actually want and go to the right place .

Have bought various things from them, but no actual hens. Have spoken to the lady who runs the business on the phone and she seems very knowledgeable and ever so lovely

Thanks Merlina. Looked at the website, looks good and plenty of information. May be a little too far though as I think it's the far side of Leicester but I will keep it in the list. Thnak you
