I had a couple of texts from Ocado today telling me that my delivery would be delayed tonight, thought I'd wait to see what happened. Had 2 calls from my driver to update me (they are brilliant at letting you know what's going on) and the new delivery time (due to admin/IT problems) is for 11.15pm tonight which is far too late

 

I am now on eternal/infernal hold to their customer services to re-arrange a new delivery time for tomorrow evening. Well, he did warn that they'd be busy

 

Anyone else having problems?

Started at 15 in the queue but it soon went down, girl said that they'd had problems at the warehouse and had to cancel 1,000 orders just glad that one of those wasn't mine.

 

Now re-booked fro tomorrow evening and a £20 voucher on its way to me for the inconvenience. Beautifully handled and there was nothing urgent for tonight in it anyway.

I had an email to say my free delivery pass voucher via Groupon was available. Quickly followed by one apologising for contacting me in error. Must be major blips going on.

Perhaps they've got the same 'bug' as the banks

OH works for them!

They have had problems with the belts that carry all the boxes around the warehouse. Given how many orders they have to fill and that they run 24 hrs a day - it's not surprising. They do try and catch up as son as possible though!

Please spare the drivers though - they are only the messengers - so to speak!

Had my delivery earlier, poor chap said that they'd all been working extra to catch up on last night's backlog.

 

He also said that the current warehouse is always running at full capacity so it was inevitable that something went wrong. There's a new warehouse/distribution centre near Tamworth coming online soon which ought to ease it a bit. Apparently some deliveries in Birmingham had to be rescheduled due to hold-ups caused by the Olympic torch relays.
