cluckingmad
Well, was out in the garden with the girls today and noticed Peanut, one of our hamburg girls, was a bit off colour... Nothing specific, just lethargic and wanting to lie down alot with her eyes closed.. She was spritely enough when pestered by the others but then immediately went back to being quiet and subdued. Watched her all day but decided to take her to the vets as she wasn't improving... Poor girl has a raging fever so vet thinks its a bacterial infection Shes such a little bird bless her, we've got her in a cat carrier inside out of the wind/rain. Shes had a shot of anti-inflammatory medication to make her more comforable and is on antibiotics for 7 days, plus we have to isolate her from the rest of the flock. Shes comfy enough in her carrier now bless her, has been drinking and tucked into a bowl of cat food earlier so daring to hope she'll be ok... cluckingmad
Shes on the mend She was standing up, chirupping in her carrier when we got up this am, popped her ouside in the infirmary run near the other girls and she had a nice potter... Until the rain hit! Hubby was her knight in shining armour, hurtled out of the shed where he was working, grabbed P and ran with her into the house... She sat the storm out, wrapped in a towel, on my knee
