chunkychick
Hi just bought a second hand eglu classic from Ebay and pressure washed it. The problem is the air space in the lid and in the egg port is now full of water Which I just cant get out.I notice there is a hole in the inside of the roof and egg port door Having never seen an Eglu before can anyone please tell me if there is supposed to be a plug/stopper of some kind that is missing? Thanks Gill
Ain't Nobody Here
If it's the hole I'm thinking of, I think it's part of the production process which is usually filled with some fibrous filler of some kind. There's no plug or stopper. I don't think I'd worry too much about water being inside, presumably it'll eventually dry up of its own accord . chunkychick
Thanks for that ANH .I'll wait till it evaporates in the 'SUN' and Stick a dollop of silicone in holes so it doesnt get water in next time I wash it. Gill
Eggasperated
When I got water in my eglu egg port I fed a piece of thick wool into the hole and used that as a wick to draw it out, however I did it indoors so the girls weren't tempted by a dangling piece of wool looking like a worm to eat. chunkychick
Great idea! Did suggest to OH he could suck it out with a long narrow piece of tubing .He wasn't very keen to say the least!
Gertie
That's a good idea (the wool I mean). I have water in my eglu door. It's been there for years but never caused any issues, even in the winter, but I think I might try to get it out now I've got an idea how! The other eglu I have has the hole blocked with green stuff (as though in manufacture).
