Eggasperated
Eating my lunch a while ago when I heard an almighty squawk from my newest girls, rushed down the garden, couldn't see any problem so I went to go back indoors when I realised Beryl was the wrong side of the electric fence in the fruit garden. How she got there I can't imagine as that side of the fence encloses the hedge in their area, I can only assume that she touched the fence, did a vertical jump but managed to land on the wrong side . Of course Beryl is one that I can never handle as she is a really nervy little thing. So I go indoors, put my lunch away (so the cat doesn't eat it), collect some corn and go about enticing her round to the fence entrance, then, after shutting the other girls in the eglu, I take down part of the electric fence, chuck in some corn and have to convince Beryl it's not a trap I just want to return her to her home. After several attempts and a lot of side stepping from Beryl I did manage to get her back in the run, re-erect the electric fence and eventually return to my lunch. I still don't really understand how she flew out but thank goodness I was here or I can't imagine what might have happened to her.
