Has anyone got an omlet wir with extensions

Recommended Posts

We're going to have a wir :D so are trying to decide between an omlet wir and a purpose built one. The plus points for the omlet one are that we could move it at a later date if we like, we could connect it to our existing cube run, and there shouldn't be any maintenance. We would have one or 2 extensions. Does anyone have this kind of set up?

I am guessing that a purpose built one might be cheaper, and could be designed to fit the space.

What does everyone think?

hi :) we bought a WIR with a 1m ext for our ducks at the nursery where i work. we went for this one as its sold as "foxproof"and the ducks are in the orchard and we have seen foxes!! so far so good i'm happy to say. we have a cube but it is inside the run as i read ducks cant do ladders so this takes up a fair bit of the available ground space. i have to say i thought the run would seem bigger obviously i had the measurements but they didin't mean a lot to me :) we would like to have a couple more exts but not sure that would be possible-school budgets etc. also we have already moved it once as ducks are so messy (duck)(white duck) and with a few of us this was fairly easy :)

hope this helps a little bit :)

I have the Cube with an Omlet WIR and one extension. I originally bought just the WIR straight but immediately decided to get the extension and I am even contemplation getting yet another extension. I love giving them all the space I can, particularly when I can't let them out to free range unsupervised. Its very sturdy. If you do try to move it you would certainly need several people to lift it! or take it apart in sections. It would be really handy if Omlet devised some quick release mechanism particularly where it joins to the Cube run.
