Bakequery
Our Speckled Sussex has had a little blood in her poo the last two mornings. She also seems a little listless and doesn't come when I call her. Normally she RUNS as she knows I am going to give her glorious treats. Should I take her to the vet or just treat for something first? I know it's only been two days because she was confined to the bathroom. We had a fox in our hen house 2-3 weeks ago. Iggy was traumatized and will not go into the hen house any more. The first night she insisted on sleeping on the ground, which is not safe where we live. Our pullets are happy up in the trees. I let them stay out at night. We got them as pullets. I'm hoping they are tame enough to confine to the coop once winter comes knocking. Meanwhile, hubby is making a new coop, which will be fox proofed. Until it's finished we have brought Iggy in at night. She perches over the sink which is lined with paper towels. Egghead68
Blood in the droppings can be coccidiosis - treated with coxoid.
Egluntyne
Coxxoid might not be available in the US. It isn't licensed for use on poultry in the UK. I'd have a word with a vet or breeder who might be able to suggest an alternative coccidostat.
