mollyripkim
Doing research on call ducks and have come across a breed of small duck called Silky Ducks, they only weigh up to 2 lbs so suitable for gardens, only the outer feathers are silky so still can swim. Just need to find a breeder, does anyone know of a magazine for ducks as that may be the way forward?
Chortle Chook
Wow. If it was April 1st I'd be certain you were making fools of us Do you have a link with pictures coz I'd love to see one. I'm already trying (completely unsuccessfully so far) to persuade OH into letting me have one of theose frizzled geese. A Silkie duck would at least be more practical. mollyripkim
I know, I was really surprised when I found them, it was by accident when looking for breeds of bantam ducks. One website is http://www.holderreadfarm.com/photogallery/silkies_page/silkies_page.htm. I can't work out how to do a link but you can cut and paste this or google silky duck. Off now to look at frizzle geese but I know that would be a step too far
jensen1234
frizzle geese look like they could make a mess, feathers everywhere!!!
Chortle Chook
Oh they are sweet. I like the Snowy Silkie Duck in particular, but they are not really like Silkies all the same. I think call ducks are a tad prettier with their funny little beaks. By the way, to put in a link I just put this into my post [*url=www.omlet.co.uk][*color=blue]The Omlet Website[/color][/url*] (asterisks added so the code is visible - you would need to remove these), and then take out the Omlet URL and add in the one I want. Same with the name.
