Willow
I've seen one or two articles on baking clubs and wondered whether to see if there's any interest locally. But worried it might get a bit serious and competitive. Has anyone been involved in one or have any thoughts ?
Plum
Sort of. In the office we've got a cake club which has progressed to The Great British Bake Off. Each week we take the challenge. Last weeks was upside down cake, this week is bread. My turn comes after this tuesdays programme ,arghhh what will it be. Could be back for advice. What are the baking clubs you refer to? Willow
One of the articles was in the Daily Mail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2091916/Why-baking-clubs-new-fool-proof-recipe-happiness.html but I'm sure I've seen mention elsewhere as well
Plum
Not too far removed from what we do then except it's one cake or now one bake off a week. Our one is not at all serious except the insistance that things have to be home made and fallen cakes are as relished as the special ones. If someone can't cook then they're encouraged to just have a go. We just like cake. If you start it then you stand a chance of getting it off on the right foot and keeping things fun, perhaps ask friends to join and expand through word of mouth rather than going straight into an official club.
