When to let chicks onto the plastic roosting bars of an eglu

Recommended Posts

So, I have two silver laced wyandotte chicks living in an eglu who are 14 weeks old. Following advice from something I read on here months ago I have not let them onto the actual plastic roosting bars yet as I understand the way the slats work it can give them bend breast bones.

My question is, when can I put the roosting bars in properly? At what age do their breast bones start to firm up? I am cleaning out the eglu tomorrow and I am hoping that I can give the bars as they are really getting to be big girls now.
