Luvachicken
Over the last few days my youngest chicks have been in the run - in their hamster house - so the older chicks could get used to them. Last night we let them meet each other on my lap, but it wasn't that successful, although it was ok'ish. We decided not to let them sleep together though because we were worried what they might do to each other. Today was the day for freedom for the younger chicks and after initial scuffles things went well. Mind you the older chicks, Queenie and Lucie, seem quite frightened of them and often ran away. Tonight was a different scene altogether. Queenie and Lucie expect their night time cuddles now and were desperate for them tonight. They hopped on my lap as usual, only to be joined by 2 quite viscious little chicks. One pulled on poor Lucie so hard she tugged her feathers out, and Queenie had had enough so she jumped off looking rather dejected. She so loves her cuddles. So at bedtime we decided to put Queenie and Lucie in their catbox and the other 2 in a rabbit box. It didn't look like they would settle together so we thought thats what would be best. Tomorrow I will let them all out together again and hope things go better........any suggestions on how to make bedtime better....much appreciated.
