Not sure if my chicken loves me or was attacking me

Recommended Posts

Thought this may amuse :)

This morning I returned Connie back to her run after her 2nd escape of the day, she is a Gold Line and defineatly out of my 5 girls the one who seems to like company etc, anyway I was stood by the run seconds later she flaps her clipped wings and is perched on my back. (Yesterday she tried to fly on to me hence the clipping of the 1 wing). Id like to think that as she sat there quite nicely until I moved and un balanced her that she just wanted to be close to me, or perhaps she thinks im a Pirate and that she is a Parrot, unforteantly for her it resulted in the other wing being clipped. As there are so many different opinons on how many wings should be clipped I decided that clearly the clippping of one had no affect so would try for both !!

The husband did come out to chuckle at the sight but as usual no camera to catch this moment of affection (or possible hate)

She sounds very friendly :) It's best to clip one wing as it's the imbalance thats ment to help stop them. I do think that some chickens are just good fliers though and it doesn't always seem to make much difference. My appenzeller could easily fly over my 6 foot fence with wing clipped but she has stayed so far as she knows where the treats are
