Having kept chooks at home for 6 years in my eglu. I have finally managed to convince the school that I work at that 4 chickens would benefit the curriculum, the kids and life in general. They are now in situ in our new gardening area behind a security fence on the unused hockey surface!! I have had to risk assess everything and justify why I am an appropriate person to keep chickens at school......Aaaagh.....but the chooks are there and my troubled boys love them!!

Sounds fab. They are such a wonderful idea for schools and you only have to read some of the posts here to realise how beneficial they are. My first girls were hatched in a school. Hope it goes well, keep us posted!
