wannabe smallholder Posted September 19, 2012 Share Posted September 19, 2012 Two weeks ago Doris began laying (yay!!). Since then I have recorded the weight of each of her eggs. Over the first week and a half her eggs got larger or remained about the same give or take a couple of grammes. Yesterday and today the weight has dropped by about 10g and is now lighter than her first one. Is this normal? Do they go up and down or could there be an issue? good_egg Posted September 19, 2012 Share Posted September 19, 2012 When Coco started laying she laid little ones, which gradually got bigger. Then she alternated between little and giant double yolkers. Then little again. Then broody! Think it sounds fine, they just take a while to settle.
