Thanks for all the replies we've decided on an inward-opening stable door - however OH who is sneaky (and a bit clever) has said that he can swap the hinges over no probs if we decide have the door opening outwards, after trying it for a couple of weeks My Orp is a terror for escaping, so I think inwards-opening may help (chance would be a fine thing!)

Ha Ha Ha, I was convinced my door opened inwards. I noticed the other day, it opens outwards. It must be my good chook training that keeps them in.
