amys garden
I love my girls but I never expected them to be such amazing escape artists! We have a wooden coup and unfortunately a walk in run is out of the question so their free range area has chicken wire and pond netting surrounding it ... But they are escaping Every time we spot a place they are getting out they find another Dottie is our arch escapee The other evening when OH went to put them to bed he couldn't find her anywhere I went out to call her and heard her over the back fence! It's about 7ft! I had to ask my son to climb over their gate to retrieve her a whole street away as the poor neighbours were out. I found the escape route under the back fence behind our shed Dottie was fine as usual BUT she's driving me crazy and I feel like the worst possible chicken owner especially as where they can get out predators can get in I have to admit I never expected the containment / protection issue to be so difficult
Cheeky Chooky
I've got a Dotty and she's a character too This is the first time I've had WIRs and I have to say it's much better...the first lot of hybrids I had years ago were always escaping! amys garden
Cheeky Chooky it's such a relief to hear its not just m and my crazy barred rock I'd love a walk in run but can't afford one at the moment unfortunately but it's deffinately the long term plan. I love that one (plan available on Internet ) where the coup is built into the run Whel a girl can but dream
