mimi5
Sorry all yet another question!!! Since the darker mornings I've been hearing Monty crows less and less and not at all for a week now (well that I've heard anyway??!!)I always get up at 6.30 and let the pekins out at 7am. I got him aged 6 months, last dec and he crowed from the day he arrived!!!! But I worry if he doesn't as he is usually down or off colour....but he seems fine at the mo!? Will try and give him a through look over tomorrow, but should I worry??? He is being a bit mean to the babies (so not babies anymore but still call them that!) and the pecking order is still a bit up and down. Oh also could it be to do with my mystery crower....which incidentally I haven't heard since??
Redwing
They certainly pipe down a bit in winter, its due to the shorter days meaning they arent as hormonal, when they are maturing they are always a bit rowdy too hence the crowing last winter I wouldnt worry too much about it as long as he seems happy and healthy
mimi5
Thanks so much for the reply Redwing, it's reassuring as he seems really well otherwise and has just about finished moulting (super new tail feathers!!!) I'm still learning!!
