Couperwife
For reasons unknown (probably the bargain bin in the local supermarket) I've got a few packets of mackerel in the freezer...(well, more like 5 or 6 ) Now, don't get me wrong...I love mackerel, but I don't know what to have it with...any ideas? Thank you Cathy X
Gertie
Ooh, i love mackerel pâté. That's what I'd do with it! Otherwise fish chowder or fish pie. I also love it for breakfast with smoked bacon, poached egg & toast! Must check the freezer!
Lavenders_Blue
I was going to suggest mackerel pate too, but then I wondered if you meant fresh mackerel rather than smoked in which case I can't help you!
C&T
Cook some pasta, and make some cheese or white sauce. Add some chopped peppers (all 3 colours make it pretty!). Mix it all up together, with your cooked mackerel. Shove in a dish, top with cheese or breadcrumbs (or both), and bake will golden. Serve with salad. Easy and tasty!
