Cinnamon
The Husband & I were chatting about the hens water freezing & he had the idea of putting some sort of moving water feature in the pen. Has anyone done this? Obviously the big problem is them pooing in the water, but we reckon that if we can make in so that they can't really perch on it,it should be ok. We can also run it from our well, which is just near the pen,& a ready supply of water. We already have a lovely bubble feature on a mill stone in the garden which the hens always run to is they are out & about....it seems they enjoy drinking from moving water. What do you think? chicken bark
Sounds an excellent idea. Be interested to see what you come up with.
good_egg
Oooh, I love that idea! Let us know if you go for it. I would guess running water has less algae etc, although how you would add tonics/supplements?? I am having grand aspirations for WIR with lovely stuff in it - perhaps I will add one to my fantasy! Lol. Should start a thread on that - fantasy WIR features. Love the one in your signature, is that the aviaries4u one? Got more pics? Olly
It sounds like a great idea. Cats are supposed to enjoy those water fountains, aren't they - although mine prefers green water from flowerpot saucers.
