Hayleybug
Hi all, looking for any suggestions (whether by experience or just ideas!) of a way to solve our WIR's leaking roof. It is made up of 4 pieces of onduline type stuff and i think it is basically leaking through the joins, as even with an overlap the water gets forced through when we have heavy rain and wind. in lighter rain it doesnt leak half as much. any thoughts as to how to seal the gaps? I have thought that we might have to go and buy longer pieces of plastic and just reroof it but OH is reluctant to pay out unless there are no other options. AndreaT
You could try siliconing it. The only problem you might have is getting it to set in this cold weather. Or as a temporary measure you could try some duct tape. I've used some to repair one of my tarps and it's holding up pretty well!
Ain't Nobody Here
I've used all those suggestions . A second layer of corrugated plastic with tarp tape over the holes (that I made with a rake ) and some outdoor silicone along the edge where it meets the garage wall. All have worked perfectly .
