christyrose12
Does anyone know if its okay for my existing hens to eat the small holder ex batt pellets? I recently got 2 ex batts and wanted to feed them a good quality food as they are abit scrawney. They are in with my posh birds. Is it okay for the posh girls or will it be too rich? libby22
Hi. I had two ex-batts on the ex-battery food and two gingernut rangers on Omlet crumb. I did accidentally mix the feeders up on one occasion and the gingernuts wouldn't touch the stuff That is when I realised the problem. The ex-batts however thought the Omlet crumb was brilliant. The ex batts' food is higher in vitamins, protein etc. Sure someone with more knowledge will pop along shortly and give you the right answer. However, probably more a case of whether your existing girls will eat it.
LottyJ1
Your existing birds will be fine eating the ex-batt food. Its just a good quality food to support them when they are rehomed.
