Rescuing Rosemary

Recommended Posts

I bought a Rosemary from Morrisons the night before the snow came. I kept it on the kitchen windowsill while the snow was here.

It looked a bit curled to start with and then, I went to give it a drink a few days later, the plant was mouldy / powdery mildew.

It's not an actual plant which was disappointing, it is in fact 3 cuttings in those funny liner things.

As soon as I saw the mould I chucked it outside and that is where it has stayed.

What can I do to make it healthier ?

if it's gone mouldy I'd bin it the last thing you want is moult getting into any other plants this time of year. for how much a real plant will cost it's no real loss plus those potted herbs aren't intended to grow on for long most have been forced in a hot house

If you know someone who has Rosemary, then it's possible to take cuttings to root yourself, but To be honest, they sell quite cheaply so just buy one, not from S'market though!!

Thanks freddie.

We have one at our playschool that I'm sure they'll let me have a bit of and if not I will go to the garden centre - might buy a sage too. At least the one from Morrisons was only £1.00 - actually I might take it back.
