The Dogmother
Yes, I know livestock can't be advertised on Freecycle/Freegle, but this scam come up every now and then; as you'd expect, no actual puppy is involved.... they offer it for free, then ask for transportation costs, broken crate etc and fleece daft people rotten. A friend has seen this recently in their area and contacted the 'offeree' to get more information before reporting them, this is the email they got back. Hi, Thanks for keeping me posted and for rightly answering the questions.I am glad i could find such a home like yours for the little girl. .I believe you will offer her the best of love.I am giving the puppy free to a loving and caring family .I am doing this in deep pains and tears but there is less i can do as i will be leaving to Australia for work. My fear is that might be i will not be able to get the best of home for the puppy. Are you sure you can provide the best for the puppy? I arrange with a transportation agency that will come over with her to your address so that you pay the expenses directly to the agency.I presently live in Dublin , Ireland and will be sending the puppy from here.Get back so that we can sort this out please .attached are pictures of the puppy . She is called Maggie.Thank you for your time and expect to read from you soon One of the photos
Lavenders_Blue
I've heard of puppies being advertised this way through Gumtree and even 'legitimate' puppy sites Definitely something to watch out for when thinking of buying/rehoming a pup. Incidentally, you can advertise animals on our Freecycle group, a few people suggested it to me when I was trying to rehome the stray kitten the other week. Not on your nelly!
