Chickendoodle
Can I recommend Prisoners of War to all of you subtitled series devotees. It is the Israeli series upon which Homeland is based. We are only half way through it and it is brilliant - makes Homeland look like a Disney version! It is very dark - there were 3 prisoners and they were away for 17 years, 2 come back and the other one is dead (as I say I am only half way through ) It is all based around the re-integration into their families with lots of quite graphic flash backs. There appears to be nothing political like Homeland and there is no Carrie character and no CIA equivalent, just one man with suspicions. The acting is superb. Many moments have moved me to tears and bits of the Homeland plot which didn't make a lot of sense become clear when there are 2 main characters. I think it is equally as good as The Killing
chickencam
May have to take a look, I do find subtitles a challenge though because I often watch and either iron or knit. We loved Homeland, so would be interesting.
Chickendoodle
Yes you do have to pay attention - I usually knit while watching TV but can't do it while watching subtitles as a single glance down means I might have missed something crucial!
