tdf010604
Is this normal? she was broody for quite a while, then i saw a few feathers lying around the coop, this morning I have gone in and she is completely bald around her neck and the coop looks like a pillow fight has happened! Should I be doing anything? I don't want her to be stressed, she looks a real mess but she is eating and drinking normally and the others don't seem to be singling her out anymore, they did when she was broody, they were really mean
stu
I'm not sure but I believe that broody hens will lose feathers, especially around the neck and lower body, as this allows better contact with any eggs she may be sitting. I expect it's like going out in the cold without a hat, and maybe try and keep her in the warm..?

After brooding & hatching apparently it is normal for a hen to moult (both of my broody hens who hatched did this last year!!) You could just make sure you add a good supplement to their water, something like life guard, just to help her along Obviously keep an eye on her too!
