Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

I got a bit of a shock when I went to clean the girls out this afternoon - not only the freezing conditions I was in - but because Suzie was in the nest box. She is only young.

I decided to leave her in peace and clean out our rabbit instead.

 

Suzie's comb is not yet fully grown so I really was quite surprised to see her in there and thought maybe she was just trying everything out for size. With the rabbit finished, she had come out and I really didn't think there would be an egg but there was . A lovely pale brown one - what a clever girl

Only one girlie left for me too, she shouldn't be too far behind Suzie.

But hey, 5 out of 6 laying is not too bad at all.
