SylvisMum
As an aside to the Great 2013 Declutter, I am doing one myself because we are about to move house. My son has presented me with an archive box full of his old books and two archive boxes full of old videos. I have advertised them on Freecycle but "Ooops, word censored!"ody's asking for them. I guess that if they are things people don't even want free, the charity shops are unlikely to want to be lumbered with them either. Have you any "green" ideas of what I can do with them? Bramble
Lots of charity shops won't take videos now, but some "book banks" do (you know, the ones in car parks etc), there are two around here that specifically ask for videos, I think they are Salvation Army ones so might be worth a look? Will look at other posts with interest!!!
Charlottechicken
I have been taking the odd music one to the charity shop. Have you found out if your council recycles them at all? It might be possible to recycle the casing and case. Or, there's always the craft option You can crochet with them as well
merlina
Perhaps try them on freecycle again or a different charity shop? I put a load on Freecycle a year or so ago and all of them went (eventually!)
SylvisMum
Thanks ever so for your replies. I have found a book bank that collects books for Oxfam and I will take them there tomorrow. The videos remain a problem. I love the suggestion of crocheting with the tape, will definitely try that sometime. I will try again on Freecycle for the rest, perhaps if I itemise them they will eventually go!
SylvisMum
I advertised nine James Bond videos and when the recipient came to collect them with his son I lured them indoors to rummage through the videos that were left to see what else they wanted. That got rid of several more! Now listed the Bruce Lee hoping to do the same.
