Heather_256715
Hi, I have a mallard male and he seems to have a broken toe. On his left foot, the middle toe on the joint seems to be swollen and inflamed and slightly yellow, but i cant get very close to him as he isnt too tame at the moment. He isnt putting any weight on it but he isnt dragging it and lies down whenever possible. I want to help him and hope to catch him some time today to check him out. Is there anything i can do for a broken toe or do i just leave it and see if it heals?
miller30
If hes not very tame it may stress him out or he could even hurt himself more if you try and catch him is he your duck or wild? if you do manage to get hold of him just have a good look to see if he has anything stuck in it or its infected his foot will feel very hot if it is other than putting something like herban in his water and try to pen him up for a bit of rest not sure what else you could do leanne
amycribyn
My duck broke her toe and I thought it was bumble foot to start with. Her toe hasn't healed but she is fine and waddles around just like the others. I would keep a close eye on your duck though it could be infected.
