Cherry Valley Ducks

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me about these? I would absolutely love to get some ducks and recently discover a supplier very close by who sells Cherry Valley's. The name means very little to me but the pictures are of white ducks with yellow bills which are my favourites :roll: (sorry if I've made anybody wince with that)

"Prudence" is quite adamant and quite right that I cannot get any at the moment :( but I would like to know if these are a practical choice for the future. There is no harm in research right?

Are they a good choice? How much noise do they make?

Many thanks

N

My ducks (and I have Call Ducks so they ought to be loud) quietend down a lot once they had settled. Now they don't make much noise at all. At bedtime (when the chickens put themselves to bed) I give my ducks a few meal worms and now, as soon as the chickens start to troup off to bed, the ducks are outside their wee house saying 'let us in' :D

In the mornings they don't start being noisy till they hear the kitchen door opening at about 7.30 am (when I go to let my chickens out), then they do start to remonstrate.
