Luvachicken
Has anyone kept a venus fly trap alive and if so for how long ? How many flies does it need to catch to survive ? I ask because my Mum bought me one for a present. The instructions say to keep it in a dish of rain water and so far I have managed to keep it alive for 3 weeks and it caught one fly with my help because I injured it first. How good are they at attracting flies and how successful are they at trapping them ? Thanks for any info x
Eggasperated
My Venus flytrap is about 3 years old, it lives in the conservatory and seems to easily catch enough flies. It dies back in the winter and I take off all the dead bits in the spring, repot it in some fresh carnivore compost and it just carries on.
