Omlet cube and run

Last week I mixed my 4 new Bantam Orpingtons into the existing flock of 2 hybrids, a Bluebelle and a Speckledy. They had been in a separate Eglu and run for two weeks, inside the WIR with the 2 hybrids.

The Bluebelle has been behaving very aggressively ever since, chasing and pecking the little ones and attacking Sparkle every time she went into the Eglu to lay her egg. The other hybrid Mabel has done a bit of chasing but nothing serious.

 

My husband and I separated Bluebell from the others and put her in the other run together with a cat basket and food and water. She is very indignant this morning but the Bantams seem a lot happier. They are all laying and two of them are quite feisty.

 

I have been searching the forum but I cannot find an answer to the question of how long to keep Bluebell in the cooler.

Can any body help please? Also if the pecking order changes, what are the chances that one of the Bantams will become head hen?

I think you misunderstood. She is not broody but isolated because she is attacking the new bantam Orps. Is your advice the same for both problems?

Inn that case I'd keep her in isolation for a few days.
