Hayleybug
Peggy-Sue has managed to somehow rip off her toenail in the run this morning, cant see any evidence as to how. I have caught her and sprayed with purple spray (her and myself!) but there was quite a bit of blood around She was holding her foot up and making little worried noises bless her, but i think she may have only just done it when i went out as the blood splashes in the run were fresh. Shes very hard to get hold of, but should i try to get her msybe at bedtime and bathe it and respray? I cant put her in 'hospital wing' as Clementine is broody again so cage currently in use! Was very scarey seeing all that blood, poor little chook!
The Dogmother
I had one which did that - it bleeds a surprising amount puff some vet wound powder onto it to staunch the bleeding before you put her back out.
Hayleybug
Thanks dogmother, i wish i had thought about using that aswell as the purple spray before, will pop home and check she is ok and reapply using wound powder too and make sure she is ok. How do they manage it??
