fatfatjake
Hi, My Chicks, born 15th April wont roost in Eglu, would in brooder and do on anything else, they even appear to roost on stumps and stuff in the run before begrudgingly getting up and going inside, where all 3 get in the nesting box. Is this normal? Thanks Jake
Egluntyne
They are still a little young to be perching on roosting bars. I'd take them out until they are about 12 weeks old. In fact, they are still a little young to be ''off heat''. If they are huddling together and are noisy, then they are not warm enough. Redwing
I'd also take out the roosting bars, they arent wasy for a chick to negotiate Chicks shouldnt roost at all for at least 12/14 weeks as they may gro a crooked breastbone as a result so a good layer of bedding for them to nestle down in is best anyway
