Chicken boarders

I've managed to get down from a size 16 to a 14 (or maybe even a big 12!). I've got quite a few fairly new size 16 trousers which I'm loathe to give away and would really like to be able to wear. Can anyone tell me if it works getting trousers taken in a size or will they always look like they're too big?

 

I'm thinking if it costs the same as say 2 pairs of new trousers, it would be worth the expense.

Is there a lady somewhere where you live who does this sort of thing? (cash!) We have one here, she's really good!!

I'd unpick the waistband and then follow the tips
