Andrew
Chook n Boo Mum came to visit us three weeks ago and couldn't resist leaving without taking a few of our Pekin eggs with her . Both our boys (Licquorish and Bertie) are Frizzle Pekins and Licquorish has produced Frizzle off-spring in the past, so there's a good chance he could do it again . Six eggs from the clutch were fertile and five hatched on Monday. Here's the pictures that Chook n Boo Mum has just sent me. There are 2 black chicks, two brown that are striped and one that's patchwork! I can hardly wait to see how many turn out to be Frizzle this time round . Chook n Boo Mum
Oooo I've only just see this! The bubbas are doing fine...2 weeks old now, I'll send Andrew some updated pics tomorrow probably, as I've been away all weekend so haven't taken any pics...the little patchwork is frizzled (although my iPad is certain I meant drizzled!) along with one each of black and brown....and (dare I say it.... .....) I think they may all be girls ...of course they could all be boys , there just don't seem to be any definitely different!
Chook n Boo Mum
Ahhh babies. So diddy. Did you catch that Mavis is a mummy too? She hatched 1 CLB girl, 4 (four I ask you! they all went back to the breeder ) boy CLBs and 3 varied Pekins...all of which appear to be of the pink persuasion I'll try & send you a pic...they are 6/7 weeks old now xx
daxigirl
Ah bless litle Mavis bossy boots, glad she gets on with your flock. I bet she's very protective, nice lot of fluff on her bum to keep things warm . Neither her mum, Thora Bird or sister, Willo Longtail, have shown any broody inclinations this year, only Evil Edna in the banties and Persil in the big girls.
