Hi,

 

I was looking for some advice regarding the 5ltr water Glug. I am going away for 2 full days and I had thought that the 5ltr Glug would hold enough water to see my 4 large Isa's through. I normally clean out and refill everyday so hadn't really put this theory to the test. However now I have and I am concerned that at a day and a half it seems a bit low and dirty.

 

Can anyone advise how long they have left theirs for?

Can you get a neighbour to pop in and sort it out?

 

Otherwise, try getting a 2nd drinker - gravity drinkers are best; they are suspended from the roof of the run so they don't get so dirty.

Thanks for responding, we are quite remote so we don't have immediate neighbours. I think I might be just being a bit over cautious. I went up to clean them out today and check the water level this being a full 2 days since I last filled and Jemima was drinking away quite happily without having to strain to get the water. I guess they are taller than I thought.

If the weather is due to be hot (some chance!) while you're away, then best add another drinker anyway; they can't manage long without water.

 

Roughly where in the country are you? There might be an Omleteer not too far away who is prepared to pop by and check on them.

Ha ha, we are in Scotland so there is more chance of them being blown away by wind, rain and hale than over heating. I convinced my Mum to come over and check on them and had her over tonight for a crash course. She seems confident enough in the water part, anything else I told her can be solved with a bag of mealworms. ;0)
