Sarah 2
Ok I'm sure I've seen the answer to my question somewhere. But I've given up trying to fine it. We're going to put our cube next to the fence. So how much room do I need to allow for the handle To be able to open and shut the door of the cube. Are the poo trays the same length as the eglu ones
BeckyBoo
Sorry I seem to have missed this post, I don't know if they're the same length as I've never had an Eglu but the poos trays are pretty long, about 30 inches maybe, they're a real pain where ours is sited and the handle is about 18 inches long at the most when it's out. Hope that helps (altho a bit vague, if I get a minute I'll measure mine in the morning) Mrs B
The Dogmother
If I remember rightly from the cube I demoed at the Royal Show, the handle extends about 30cm
Sarah 2
I thought no one was going to reply Thank you. Mrs Bertie it would be great if you had time to measure. It would really help me.
BeckyBoo
ooooh, sorry I forgot, they're in bed now - will do it first thing. Nag me!
Cate in NZ
I'd say that the poo trays are a similar length as in the eglu, assuming that you're taking the eglu poo tray from the longest aspect, ie the bit that goes up to the door, not the shorter length going up to the nesting box. I've not got a cube I hasten to add, I'm just going on memory from the couple of cubes that I've seen. Mrs Bertie's measurements tomorrow will be more useful than my ramblings I'm sure . The Dogmother
While we're on the subject of handles on cubes, anyone else think that the lid could do with one to pull it back? It frustrated me when I was demo-ing one at the Royal Show.
Gallina
I think the Cube was designed by a tall person.... I am 5' 11" and have no trouble at all with the lid. But I can see that it would be very difficult for someone shorter.
The Dogmother
Apart from Simon, the Omlet boys are all over 6 foot! Being 5'1", I found it difficult.
Cate in NZ
I thought that Will told me that they were hoping to add a handle to the roof when I saw the very first demo cube at Ardingly (there were a few minor adjustments that he mentioned). But that said there wasn't a handle when I saw a better demo one at Grand Designs, so maybe they dropped that idea . I agree with you though, I think a handle, even just a groove, in the roof would make closing the roof easier.
BeckyBoo
11 inches for the handle and 30 for the poo trays. Sorry sorry sorry for the delay!! Thats 28 cm for the handle and 77ish for the poo trays! Hope that helps - finally!! Mrs B
