carrotspine
Hi all, I've just broken one of my girls eggs for my tea and discovered a normal egg in the shell but with what looks like a blood clot coming from the yolk, the blood is quite thick and about 3cm long, there's also a bit in the white but that's runnier. Does anyone know why this has happened? None of the girls have been off colour to my knowledge and having food and s"Ooops, word censored!"s. My neices have just left after a week and they've been very interested in the girls so there's been four young children talking to them all week but nothing else.I am going away tomorrow until Monday so they will only have access to the run attached to the egluu and I don't want a sick chicken! I have a photo so will try to upload, thanks
LolaLayla
I have kept 2-4 chickens for 3 years now and have had this happen on two occasions. I never found out the reason why (they are regularly wormed etc) and there was nothing apparently wrong with the girls.
