C&T
OK, now I could post this on other forums - but the militant mothers out there can be a little scary so wondering if anyone here has any experience... My 2yr DD has just come through Hand Foot and Mouth - not been out of house for nearly a week in quarantine - AARRGHHH. Most blisters have gone - except for one on her thumb - the thumb she sucks. And the blister has grown and is white. She currently has a Mr Men plaster on it (as I also have on my thumb ) and hoping with some respite from sucking the blister will begin to go. She's not happy about it, but ok with Mr Men! Has anyone any other ideas what I can do to try and "fix" her thumb? Don't think it's infected (no redness). If still no improvement I have a nurses appointment on Tuesday for DS Jabs, so can get her to look at it quickly.
Alis girls
Poor you and daughter - my son had that many yrs ago. It might be white from the plaster but obviously you want her not to suck it. Let your nurse have a look. if no pus not infected. HFand M - I dont recall the blisters going yucky - might if dirt gets in. Your nurse might hold off vacc for a week if daugher is under the weather. Not a bad idea really, these bugs can leave them rundown. Probably get a tonic for kids. My son had scarletina, HFM and some other obcure bug I cant recall. Good luck
Alis girls
Oh what about a finger cot thing which you put over to keep dry. fastens round wrist. Not sure if its the right name, you could probably put stickers or draw smiley faces on it to make it more appealing. Just a thought
C&T
Thanks Alis Girls. 2nd day of plaster, and seems to be improving a little... Hoping it is not just me hoping it is and imagining things! Not got worse anyway. And one of those things that tie round wrist could work... Especially with stickers etc! Been better with her plaster today, and had one on each thumb at one point . See what happens tomorrow, and what the nurse says on Tuesday.
