chickencam
Who else watched this? I loved it, so interesting. My OH was born in the same ex workhouse hospital and his dad grew up a few streets away. He is 10 - 15 years older. I am very much still working class as is my hubby despite him being a professional and university educated. I agree that it is about core values. The worst thing to happen to the image of the working classes is Jeremy Kyle, him and the sort of people that are on his shows have always been a small part of our society but they weren't publicised. The vast majority of people in this country are decent and hard working and we don't see them celebrated anything like enough in the media. I liked his idea of bringing back the temperance movement too for our drunken tones and cities.
newcountrygirl
I enjoyed this - except for Cilla Black saying she is still working class. I have read allsorts of stories about her and her demands - she is not working class. I think Paul is though - I love him.
