Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

hi,

I am in a care home and we have the eglu classic,

I look after gathering the eggs, but sometimes I get there and theres no eggs, this cant be happening a few days in a row then next day we have a whole lot of eggs, there would be at least one surely.... which makes me think other people are taking them, we have a list up people can put there name doen on if they want eggs, just like to know how many have been laid by the girls each day.

so is there anyway a lock or something can be put on to stop other people getting in the side door at all ?

The classic egg port is a tricky thing to secure by virtue of its shape. Could you get some sort of strap or chain which you could put right round the eglu and padlock over the door? It might be enough to put people off. The converse is that it would be a pain for you, collecting the eggs .

It's getting near the end of the egg laying season for my hens so that might be the reason, not that someone is taking them.
