Millie-Annie
Octavia my 15 week old Orpington, walks around picking up feathers and eating them. Why? Will it do her any harm?
gavclojak
I have seen two of my girls doing it and they didn't seem to come to any harm, i read its a nutritional requirement they are lacking...not sore about that at my girls have a very good diet and supplements. Mrs_B
I wouldn't worry - my chickens pick up some feathers off of the floor and eat them. Sometimes it can mean a lack of protein in their diet, so the chicken eating feathers is trying to get the missing protein back from eating the feathers. Worth keeping an eye on x
