Solitary chicken - need advice

Hi all, My hen Dorothy who is a cream legbar cross and is around 9 months old has started to make a strange noise. We noticed it yesterday and it sounds like she has hiccups as it continues one after another about 5 - 6 times then stops then a few minutes later happens again.

 

We were feeding them a few treats and she is very greedy and will chase the others and nick the food of them that's why I am thinking it could be hiccups. It did stop after a couple of times. She seems fine in herself eating and drinking running around digging and having dust bath.

 

However the other half was cutting the grass today and he said she did the same thing so maybe its not hiccups and maybe its sneezing.

 

Should I be worried? Is there anything else I can do or check?

If mine gobble food too quick then they can get a bit stuck and then make the most horrendous notice trying to dislodge it - they tend to do this open beaked and is like a loud hiccup combined with a retch. They are then fine after a couple of these! Could it be that?

Thanks for the reply good egg it could be that as it does sound similar to what Dorothy is doing she doesn't seem to be doing it anymore so fingers crossed it was just a little bit of food she had stuck.

I have a columbine that gets hiccups every now and then she sounds like a dogs squeaky toy, it doesn't seem to bother her at all she gobbles her food and it normally happens when she goes free ranging., there not continual just every few moments like when we get them, don't think its that she's got food stuck tho as never seen her wrenching with open beak. She seems to make herself jump with them sometimes and the other girls
