One of my girls has had a impacted crop which has been going on for a week have gave her oil and wet grinded pellets food is getting through and she is well in her self went to the vets last night and he said that we should cut her open and have a look, she is booked in for today. But this morning it is half the size it was like a small marble, do I give her a bit longer and try her with maggots or have the op done today really struggling

I would try to avoid the op (expensive and they don't tolerate GAs very well) there's a thread in the FAQ section of the forum which will help; keep up the treatment as it's really quite easy to clear at home. Try to keep her off food (just water with poultry tonic in it) for 36 hours.

Ok thanks, the vet agreed aswell going to get some white maggots today

Plenty of massaging will probably sort it out, jst check that she's pooing and gastric stasis hasn't set in.

She's been on apple cider vinegar and she is pooing runny ones urghh!

ACV is good and will prevent sour crop, and it's good that something at least is coming out t'other end.
