Chicken bald back

Help - what's wrong with my chicken? she's about 3 years old i think, had stopped laying a good while ago but seemed fine up until yesterday when she was walking strangely - like with her bum on the ground. Today she doesn't seem able to walk at all or bend her head down to eat although she will eat if i hold the food up to her. There's no sign of any injuries, does anyone have any idea as to what could be wrong?

Does her tummy feel swollen or like it's full of water?

Nope - tummy seems fine, she's not to thin, poo looks normal.

She's gone I'd put her down on the grass to see if she could move and she flapped her wings, looked at me and close her eyes - RIP Ginger chicken.

So sorry. They hide illnesses until the last minute so don't beat yourself up.

Gosh, what a shock for you . So sorry to hear that but at least she didn't suffer and you didn't have the worry of finding out what was wrong. Poor girl was obviously more ill than she appeared.

Oh I am so sorry, she was such a good age though. I am glad for you both that she went quickly and without suffering - such a horrible shock though. Hope you are ok.
